Our fall Book Fair begins on Friday and runs through October 4th. The hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day. On Wednesday October 2nd, the fair will be open until 6:00 p.m.
The study guide for the Heat Unit has been sent home. Please help your child prepare by reviewing vocabulary, explaining the difference between conductors and insulators, and describing sources of heat. The test will be on Tuesday, October 1st.

Math:
We have started Unit 2 this week with a focus on multiplication and division. Please support at home by practicing multiplication and division facts. You can pick up a pack of card from The Dollar Store to assist. Have your child practice for 5 minutes everyday.

Reading:
For the next month, every class in third grade will be reading the chapter book, The One and Only Ivan. We will be talking about describing characters in a story.
Grammar:
Our focus this week is irregular plural nouns that do not follow the typical rules.
Writing:
Students will begin writing informational pieces- "teaching" others about a topic that they are an expert at. Here are some things that they will be explaining about their topic to get them started thinking like an expert informational writer.
Science:Students will need to prepare for their heat unit test on Tuesday!
Social Studies:
This week, we are beginning the next social studies unit over the life and culture of the early Native Americans and the regions they lived in.
